by wandering attercop

Aiza Seguerra is one of the most admired Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artist. She started her career in showbiz as a child star in the late 80's when she was discovered in a television contest for little girls.

Since then Aiza starred in numerous films and tv shows. She also received awards such as Best Child Actress.

In the late 90's, she temporarily stepped out of showbiz to pursue her studies. In early 2000, Aiza made a come back as an acoustic singer. She had several multi-platinum albums. Her major hit "Pagdating ng Panahon" topped the radio stations' charts and earned music awards.

Aiza is now part of a group called "Sessionistas." This year, she celebrates her 25th year in showbiz. She had an anniversary concert last September 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum entitled "Bente Singko." I was fortunate enough to get a good seat even if the tickets are almost sold out.

Her guests include: The Company, Krizza Neri, Sessionistas, Bayang Barrios, Cookie Chua,Gloc 9, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano and Vic Sotto. Big stars, Maricel Soriano and Sharon Cuneta, were part of the audience. The concert was serenaded by ABS CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Gerard Salonga.

Aiza is dubbed as "Asia's Acoustic Sensation." She continues to produce great albums that promote Original Pilipino Music.

Artist of the Week: Spice Girls

by Twaddler Boy

People are talking about a possible comeback of the 90's famous pop group Spice Girls. This was after their get together perfomance during the closing of the 2012 London Olympics. The group performed Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life. The performance had 116,000 tweets on twiter per minute but still their return is still something that their fans are dreaming of.

Who can forget Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice). I think their nicknames represent their own personality and also shows the world that you can be who are which was a huge hit to young people. They are the girl group who ruled during the era of the boy bands but did you know that their debut album Spice is the best selling album by a female group in history with more that 28 million records sold. They also hold the title for best selling female group of all time because they sold more than 75 million records.

Artist of the Week: Babyface

by Twaddler Boy

He is one of my favorite artists and I've even included two of his song in the list of songs that I sing with my band namely Change the world which is a very famous song that he shared with Eric Clapton and the song Fire that I watched in youtube, he sang it there with Desree. He is not only a singer but a song writer, guitarist, keyboardist a film producer and an entrepreneur as well. Now thats what I call a man of music. I also had a bit of piano lessons when I was little but unfortunatley I don't know how to play anymore lol. My band mates also tried teaching me to play the Guitar but I can never seem to remeber how to play it lol.  Babcyface is now 53 years old and I was wondering if he would ever change his name to not too babyface anymore lol. His real name is Kenneth Brian Edmonds, we actualy share a same name. I have Bryan in my name too, mine is spelled with a Y though. Please look him up in youtube and you will find great songs. His voice is very pleasant to hear which I believe is why he is called babyface lol but don't quote me on that coz I'm not sure lol.

Studying the Song: Still a Friends of mine by Incognito

by Twaddler Boy

Artist: Incognito
Song: Still a friend of mine

You know as true as trees are tall
And autumn leaves do fall
Oh, it sometimes rains in paradise
And even the warmest heart can turn to ice

I know it happend to us all
Every kind of people fall
And after all the tears are gone
Do we have the heart to carry on

Chorus:
Here and now, still somehow
Still a friend of mine, oh you're still a friend of mine
Still a friend of mine, you're still a friend of mine
Still a friend of mine, oh you're still a friend of mine
Oh

To think of all the times I hurt you
And never thought it through
Oh, I treated you so badly baby
Could such a cruel heart ever be free

I know it happens to us all
Every kind of people fall
Oh, and after all is said and done
Do we have the heart to carry on

Chorus

I know as long as I've got you
And we do the things we do
The next time baby
That our love breaks down
I'll do the best that I can
To turn it around

Chorus

Time and time and time again
I'm gonna be right here for you baby
Seasons come and seasons go
Gonna be right here for you

Repeat x 3 (Fade)

Incognito

This song was from the British band Incognito. I’ll also try to post a video of the song later. I don't really know a lot about music and specially the artists. I only get to know groups such as Incognito because my band mates would ask me to listen to their songs and sometimes study them to include it in our line up. This group is part of the United Kingdom’s acid jazz movement. I looked them up in youtube and saw that there were different singers so I’m not really sure who their vocalists are lol but I would suggest that guys try looking them up in youtube. They play great music and you try starting with this one, still a friend of mine.

Artist of the week: Jessica Sanchez

by Twaddler Boy

I think everyone who's watching American Idol season eleven would agree with me when I say that this girl is a great singer. She sounds a little bit like Beyonce and I can't believe she's just 16 I think lol. She is a daughter of a Filipina from Bataan, wow. That's why she sings so well lol. Her dad is a Mexican American and the early age of 11 she joined America's got talent in 2006 but was not able to make it in the semi finals. But fortunately she is currently still a strong Contestant in the current American Idol season. I also looked her up in you tube because I can't seem to get enough of her lol. I also think she sometimes looks like Sarah Geronimo and Ella May Saison lol. Well I hope she makes it big in the music industry because she sure is making Filipinos all over the world proud.
