2012 family Vacation 5th stop: Pakil Laguna's Religious Festival
Our Lady of Turumba is a Religious Festival in Pakila Laguna that started back in 1788. According to history an oil canvas of the virgin Mary was survived a ship wreck and was found by fishermen in Laguna de Bay and was brought to shore. The fishermen left it there because they needed to continue fishing. The next day it was found by a group women but couldn't carry it. They then called the parish priest for help. So the priest, sacristans, choir members and church goers alllhelped carry the painting to the church and just started singing with great joy. They said this is how it started.
This was part of our 2012 family vacation. Well actually my family goes here every year but this was only the 2nd time I was able to join them.
